Welcome to the 14th Running of The Dales Mini Run to be held on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September 2012 with Friday 14th as an option. It's a not for profit family event for Mini lovers young and old. Come and join in the fun with us at our new base located at the WOODHOUSE FARM CARAVAN & CAMPING PARK, WINKSLEY, RIPON, NORTH YORKSHIRE.
   The event costs £15 per Car entered (Mini or variants only) for the Saturday & Sunday event, with optional camping at £6 per night per adult, under 16’s charged at £1 per night per child and must be accompanied by an adult! Dogs are charged at 50p per night each. A maximum of six persons per unit and our optional Friday night camping is available at the same rates but must be pre booked only for those wanting to spend the whole weekend with us - and come on who wouldn't ?
The camp-site offers a full range of facilities including an on site pub and restaurant, small shop, suitable washing and toilet facilities, child play areas, additional parking, and some fantastic local scenery to enjoy.
   A report from last years Dales Mini Run held on the 16th to 18th September 2011 follows: The 13th running of this Annual camping & road run event held in the Yorkshire Dales, near Settle, brought together a good collection of Classic and new Minis for the weekend's fun and games. Friday afternoon saw the first of the campers setting up and beginning the socialising, meeting up with old and welcoming new friends. More Minis arrived on Saturday morning, and even a very heavy downpour didn't spoil the enthusiasm for the event's Treasure Hunt. A lovely drive around the local area with some devilish clues to find caused much amusement but eventually everyone returned to the camp-site, with no major arguments reported. Saturday night was another friendly family night with various quizzes to really test people's knowledge of Mini and other car / driving-related matters, before retiring to bed in preparation for the Main Event.
   The Sunday Road Run - a fabulous route on roads the Mini was built to enjoy, provided the opportunity to convoy - all friends together, around the scenic Yorkshire Dales. The run included a lunch stop in Skipton, the obligatory Water Splash and plenty of twists and turns, the run brought smiles to more than the participants faces, with the local populous appreciating the sight of Mini after Mini driving through their countryside. A fantastic weekend, enjoyed by all who attended, with more friends made along the way and lots of intention to do it all again next year.
